📐 Why Larger Busts Cost More
A bust concentrates all of its surface area and detail into the head and shoulders, rather than spreading it across an entire figure the way a full-body sculpture does. As a bust scales up, that surface area — and the resin volume needed to print it — increases sharply, just as it does for full-body pieces. Our design team reviews each larger bust individually for facial fidelity before printing begins, which is part of what the design tier for oversized busts covers.

How is this different from your standard Portrait Bust? Our standard line runs 8–12cm and includes design work in the price. For the oversized line, your selected Design Tier is built into the total price shown, so each size and project scope is still precisely accounted for. Larger sizes also require our design team to adapt the model's detail work for the bigger scale, since the same level of detail needs to read clearly across a much larger sculpted surface.
What if I choose the wrong Design Tier? No problem. Our design team reviews every order after checkout and confirms the right tier by email. If your project needs more design work than your selected tier covers, we'll send a separate invoice for just the difference — never a reason to cancel or reorder.
Will the facial detail still look sharp at a larger size? Yes — even better, in fact. Our WJP printer holds the same ±0.1mm precision regardless of size, so at a larger scale that fixed precision covers proportionally less of each feature, meaning details like eyes, wrinkles, and hair render with more visible clarity, not less.
